What is the best time of year for a tour?

November to June sees the High Country at its most accessible. However 4wd Adventure Tours are run all year around.

 

What type of 4WD experience do I need?

All types! Our thoroughly researched tours cater for all levels of 4WD experience from beginner to experienced.

 

Does it get cold at night?

Snow can fall in the High Country at any month of the year – it is advised that you pack for all possible weather conditions. We recommend that you have a sleeping bag that’s rated to minus 5

 

What is supplied on tour?

Participants need to be fully self sufficient. Tour vehicles will have communication & recovery gear, fridges, cooking equipment & 240v charging capabilities for camera batteries, phones or any other personal device.

 

What do I need to bring?

This will be adventure specific and you will be advised at the time of booking. For 4wd adventures please bring all camping gear, tent or swag, camp chair, sleeping bag, pillow, clothing and personal items. Most importantly a sense of adventure!

 

Will there be toilets?

Along the way and at camp there will be long drop toilets. .

 

What type of experience do I need?

We cater for all levels from 1st timers to the experienced. We advise that you disclose your level of experience during booking.

 

How experienced are the tour operators?

All tour operators are highly trained and very experienced in their chosen field. All have 1st aid training with some being certified in wilderness 1st aid. Some are also volunteer and career 1st responders.
